Anyone in the 21-40 year age range who has been diagnosed with cancer. We are often flexible with ages and use this range as a target.

Expect to meet a diverse group of rad humans from all walks of life! Programs usually have 6-9 participants, plus 2 Send It trip leaders and 1 medical professional. We will also have instructors/guides join us during the day for the activities. We have a chef with us on our multi-day programs cooking up delicious meals to fuel the sending.

Domestic Programs:

All of our domestic programs are free for participants! This includes accommodations, food, gear/equipment, instructors/guides and any other activity expenses. Travel to and from the program is not included, but we work with participants individually to explore financial assistance options. We will not let funding get in between you and your adventure!

International Programs:

Our international programs come with a financial requirement. Participants are responsible for covering a $1,500 deposit, flights, and accommodations before and after the program.

We have a Send It base camp house wherever we are sending it. There are both individual and shared rooms, but everyone will have their own bed. Backpacking trips are a little different – you may share a tent with another participant.

Our programs include activities like skiing, snowboarding, electric mountain biking, backpacking, and rock climbing. Other optional activities include yoga, hiking, and snowshoeing. In between sending it, there is plenty of down time for rest and relaxation. You set the pace for your adventure.

No previous experience necessary! We welcome all skill levels and none of the activities are mandatory. We have experienced instructors and guides on all of our trips to support beginners to experts. Our goal is to meet you where you are and support you in trying new activities no matter your experience or ability.

The Send It programs are free of charge for all participants. This includes lodging, food, gear & equipment, guides, instruction, and transportation.

Please note that space is limited for each adventure, and we strive to accommodate everyone in our community. By signing up for a trip, you are committing to attend. While we understand that emergencies can happen, please be considerate of others who are interested in joining these programs and the extensive planning that goes into creating these experiences. If unforeseen circumstances arise and you can no longer attend, please notify us as soon as possible so we can offer the opportunity to another person in our growing applicant pool.

A $100 deposit is required to secure your spot in a program. The deposit must be paid no later than one month before the program and will be refunded within two weeks after the trip. If you cancel for nonmedical reasons within 30 days of the trip, your deposit cannot be refunded.

Meals are an important part of our programs and we value having delicious and nutritious food for everyone. Our Send It chefs are very attentive to individual food preferences and dietary restrictions, and make sure to have a variety of options for all tastes. Before joining an adventure, you will have a chance to submit specific requests.

Sending It is all about stepping out of your comfort zone and trying new things. We encourage you to join an adventure to meet new friends and share a new experience. Multi-day programs are for cancer patients and survivors. Occasionally we will have space for a friend/caregiver on our single-day outings, but this depends on the activity and our capacity.

How and when you talk about cancer is up to you. We do our best to create the space for conversation, but nothing is mandatory. Most often, this happens organically when the time is right.
