Send It provides outdoor adventures for young adult (ages 21-40) cancer patients and survivors, removing them from their cancer experience and creating the space to play, connect, and have fun in the outdoors. Send It programs are multi-day adventures in Lake Tahoe and the San Francisco Bay Area, designed around activities such as mountain biking, skiing, surfing, climbing and backpacking; creating a vital community through shared experience.
Head to the mountains and Send It on the slopes! Participants will have the opportunity to take on the mountains of Lake Tahoe for 3 days of skiing or snowboarding at Palisades Tahoe Resort. Ski and snowboard instructors are provided and will work with participants at all skill levels. Additional activities include yoga, snow tubing, and hot tub sessions at the Send It cabin. Equipment, lift tickets, lessons, food, and lodging are provided to participants, free of charge. All skill levels are welcome, no previous ski or snowboard experience necessary.
June is a wonderful time of year in Tahoe! Join us on this adventure for two days of rock climbing on Donner Pass and two days of electric mountain biking in the Sierra Mountains! The electric mountain bikes are pedal assist so they help on the uphill climbs and are smooth riding on the downhills. We will have experienced instructors and guides for all activities. All skill levels are welcome, but participants must be able to ride a bike to participate. No previous rock-climbing experience is necessary. We'll soak up the beauty of the Sierras and all that the mountains have to offer! Additional activities include swimming in Lake Tahoe and Donner Lake, hiking, and star gazing. All gear, guides, lodging, food, and equipment are included and free for participants.
Join us on a 4-day/3-night backcountry adventure in the Sierras. This is a moderate to difficult 24-mile (round-trip) hike spread over 4 days which passes through tranquil meadows, pine forest groves, and is surrounded by stunning granite peaks. Elevations range from 6,500 ft to almost 10,000 ft. While this is one of our more physically demanding programs, we encourage participants to push themselves and soak up the beauty of the Sierra Backcountry. All equipment, food, and lodging are included and free for participants. If you have your own backpacking equipment and would like to use it, thats great! Please be aware that backpacking is a challenging activity that requires you to carry the equipment and food that you need while on the trail.
Ready for a change of pace? Looking to unplug, reflect, and breath deep? Our Mindfulness in Nature program focuses on self reflection, connection to nature, and truly being aware of each moment. Join us for 5 days and 4 nights at the Send It house in Lake Tahoe California. Activities include morning yoga, meditation sessions, hiking in nature, and intentional reflection activities.
All equipment, guides, lodging, and food is included and free for participants. No previous experience necessary, all skill levels are welcome.
Join us on this epic adventure with Santa Cruz Bicycles for 3 days of electric mountain biking in Santa Cruz, California! We will soak up the beauty of the forested coast while we rip our bikes around the trails. In partnership with Santa Cruz bicycles, our full suspension electric mountain bikes are pedal assist, so they help on the uphill climbs and are smooth riding on the downhill. While we will be riding beginner friendly trails, we recommend that participants have some experience riding mountain bikes, and definitely feel comfortable on a bike. All gear, guides, lodging, food, and equipment are included and free for participants.
Since this is an international program, there is a financial requirement. The cost of the trip is $1,500.
