Anyone in the 21-40 year age range who has been diagnosed with cancer. We are often flexible with ages and use this range as a target.

Expect to meet a diverse group of rad humans from all walks of life! Programs usually have 6-9 participants, plus 2 Send It staff members and 2 medical volunteers. We will also have instructors/guides join us during the day for the activities. We have a chef with us on our multi-day programs cooking up delicious meals to fuel the sending.

All of our programs are free for participants! This includes accommodations, food, gear/equipment, instructors/guides and any other activity expenses. We are happy to work with individuals to subsidize travel costs. We will not let funding get in between you and your adventure!

We have a Send It base camp house wherever we are sending it. There are both individual and shared rooms, but everyone will have their own bed. Backpacking trips are a little different – you may share a tent with another participant.

Our programs include activities like skiing, snowboarding, surfing, electric mountain biking, backpacking, rock climbing, and paddle boarding. Other optional activities include yoga, hiking, and snowshoeing. In between sending it, there is plenty of down time for rest and relaxation. You set the pace for your adventure.

No previous experience necessary! We welcome all skill levels and none of the activities are mandatory. We have experienced instructors and guides on all of our trips to support beginners to experts. Our goal is to meet you where you are and support you in trying new activities no matter your experience or ability.

No problem, we understand that life happens and things come up. Please let us know if you need to cancel as soon as possible so we can fill your spot. If you have to cancel, you will be placed back on our general waitlist and we will do our best to get you on another Send It program in the future.

Meals are an important part of our programs and we value having delicious and nutritious food for everyone. Our Send It chefs are very attentive to individual food preferences and dietary restrictions, and make sure to have a variety of options for all tastes. Before joining an adventure, you will have a chance to submit specific requests.

Sending It is all about stepping out of your comfort zone and trying new things. We encourage you to join an adventure to meet new friends and share a new experience. Multi-day programs are for cancer patients and survivors. Occasionally we will have space for a friend/caregiver on our single-day outings, but this depends on the activity and our capacity.

How and when you talk about cancer is up to you. We do our best to create the space for conversation, but nothing is mandatory. Most often, this happens organically when the time is right.
